Happy Eeyawquittoowauconnuck Day, family!

Commemorating this date 238 years ago today (November 7, 1785) one of our founders, Samson Occom, wrote in his journal that “we proceeded to form into a Body Politick we Named our Town-by the name of Brotherton, in Indian Eeyawquittoowauconnuck.” In October of 2019, our Brothertown Council officially decreed that this date be remembered by our tribe annually.
