The BIN community, both locally in FDL and nationally, has been very busy of late. There are a number of noteworthy updates and scheduled events to check out.

Council: Many thanks to Tribal Chair Jeremy Marx, Council, and local-to-FDL BIN citizens for their planning meetings and corresponding events listed in the calendar below. Of particular interest to those of us out of town is the “Eeyamquitoowauconnuck Walk across America” to help raise funds for our Brothertown Collection. To learn more about this collection please read this post. Keep an eye on the BIN website at BrothertownIndians.org for event updates.

Peacemakers: The Peacemakers have launched their internet presence at brothertownpeacemakers.org. It’s great to be able to put names to faces and learn a bit more about our elected officials. Their site also has a blog which you will definitely want to sign up for if you enjoy learning about our Tribal history.

Citizens: Several BIN citizens have recently formed themselves into a group collectively known as Brothertown Forward. This group’s self-appointed goal is to assist our Tribal government and citizens in invigorating, educating, and sustaining our Brothertown culture and community.   Please visit BrothertownForward.wordpress.com to learn more.
